Salted Caramel Ice Cream shooters are the perfect combination of salty & sweet and are a big hit with kids and adults alike. What is best about these shooters is that they can be customized to fit your party's color scheme and made in just a few simple steps!
For the shooters you will need:
- 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- Pinch of sea salt (to taste)
- 1 tablespoon caramel sauce
- Garnishes of your choice (sprinkles, sugar, cocoa powder, etc.)
- Whipped Cream
First thing first, gather your shot glasses, caramel sauce and garnishes. Pour the caramel sauce into a small bowl just enough to coat the rim of each shot glass and in another small bowl pour out the garnish of your choice. Evenly dip the rim into the sauce, just cover the top. Too much caramel will run down the side of the glass - it can quickly get messy!
After getting an even rim of caramel carefully dip the glass into the garnish bowl and give it a twirl, pick it up and gently shake any loose garnishes back into the bowl. Then add a dab of caramel to the bottom of each glass, making sure not to knock the garnish. After this step they should look like this!
Next, you will blend the ice cream, milk and caramel sauce together. Fill each shot glass with the ice cream mixture and top with whipped cream and just a pinch of sea salt. For best results wait to fill glasses until right before serving.
You can also add some fun extras to your shooters, such as straws, pennant flags or a mini marshmallow on the rim of glass! Let your imagination run wild, this recipe can be altered to match any party theme. Just a few drops of green food dye to the ice cream mixture and you can easily have a St. Patrick's Day shooter or add colored sprinkles to match your decorations.
